350 years of history and greats plans ahead

Back in 2018, the major investments in STROBLHOF Südtirol were completed. It was time to decide where we wanted to go from there. Would we, as a family, like to build a new hotel, take over a smaller one, stay in Val Passiria/Passeiertal, or expand elsewhere? We had a lot of questions on our minds during that time. So, we gathered around the table with our children and discussed them.

A long-time guest, an architect from the city of Brescia whom Hansi had always encouraged to keep an eye out for interesting projects on Lake Garda, contacted us during this reflective phase. He had a great project for us on the western shore of Lake Garda, in Gargnano. Less than a week later, we were there inspecting the property. It was love at first sight. The location was truly exceptional, situated high above Lake Garda with stunning views across the shimmering waters, and the tranquillity of this expansive open space on a large forested plot was remarkable. In short, we were totally in love with it. And with Gargnano, this picturesque little village with romantic harbour, charming little streets, and Lake Garda’s deep blue waters.

A week later, in July 2018, we signed the purchase contract and thus embarked on what is probably the biggest adventure of our professional careers. The authorisation process was anything but easy. And then a pandemic interfered and a war broke out in the middle of Europe. But we didn’t let up, believed in it every minute, and worked hard to make our plans reality. In July 2023, the construction site was set up and construction of the new STROBLHOF Lake Garda Active Family Spa Resort began.
